Dec 31 Rowed 6.2 miles from WSEG boat ramp on the western shore of Mosquito Lagoon in Oak Hill to the north western end of the Haulover Canal which joins the Indian River just north of Mims.
Jan 01 Rowed 9.2 miles from the Haulover Canal to the beach west of the Max Brewer Bridge.
Jan 02 From Titusville to Cocoa - 22.8 miles!
Jan 03 5.5 miles through chop. Late start and SE winds made for a short day!
Jan 04 16.7 miles from Jay's Harbor Light Marina to Ballard Park in Melbourne.
Jan 05 Our wonderful new Habitat friends give us an official launch send-off. 9.3 miles to Castaways Point in Palm Bay.
Jan 06 We rowed 22.6 miles from Castaways Point to Wabasso!
Jan 07 TOO WINDY!!! Small craft warnings! North winds gusting to more than 30mph. Rest day - no rowing.
Jan 08 From Wabasso to Fort Pierce - 23.1 miles.
Jan 09 Fort Pierce to Sewalls Point - 21.8
Jan 10 Wild wind and waves made for an exciting adventure! We nearly caught a fish and Gunnar was taken away in a cruiser! 16.1 miles
Jan 11 9.6 miles from Coral Cove Park in Tequesta to Juno Park in Juno Beach. Wakes galore on the ICW.
Jan 12 Houseboats and HUGE boats. The ICW is an ever changing adventure. Great day - 21.8 miles.
Jan 13 The wakes continue! Rowing is slowed when we have to stop and ride out the waves made by the big, fast and often thoughtless!! Got to Boca Raton - 17.2 miles
Jan 14 23.2 miles - We made it past Fort Lauderdale! Rowing through wakes on all sides, the biggest ocean liners yet and we stayed miraculously dry!
Jan 15 24.2 miles to Island View Park in Miami.
Jan. 16 19.6 miles - we rowed across and out of the port of Miami and down the west side of Biscayne Bay.
Jan 17 We put the boat on the car and drove to the place where we stopped last year in Key Largo. The wind was SE and we rowed north to Jew Point on Card Sound. A beautiful 12.6 miles today.
Jan 18 We took a day to visit the Habitat homes in Homestead, do laundry, nap, and catch up on the daily logs for the past few days. The wind is strong, it is pouring, and thunderstorms are predicted - not a good day to be in an 18' open shell on Biscayne Bay. Hopefully tomorrow will be more calm, with NW winds...
Jan 19 We closed the gap! 24.5 miles - our longest row!!
Jan 20 We tried to row both from Sewall's Point and again in Oak Hill. It was howling winds from the north and whitecaps. We drove to Daytona Beach and will see what tomorrow brings.
Jan 21 15.5 miles from Port Orange Bridge to Mennard May Park in Edgewater. The last day on the water for the trip. We head to Atlanta tomorrow for meetings at TOTO and then drive home for the NH Primary on the 27th.
