TOTO USA, Inc. - Our Corporate Donor
Gunnar's employer, TOTO USA,Inc., has agreed to donate 135 toilets to the Affiliates of Habitat for Humanity that we visit on our rowing trip. This is enough to supply each of the homes planned in 2005.
TOTO USA, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of TOTO Ltd., the world’s largest manufacturer of plumbing fixtures. TOTO has also been a global leader in innovation. It s over 1500 R&D engineers have developed toilets which lead the industry in flushing performance and electronic valves and faucets which have set the standard for efficiency and low maintenance. TOTO is well known for its Washlet®seats that provide a new level of comfort and hygiene.
TOTO USA, Inc., since it’s beginnings in the U.S. market in 1990, has introduced products that are environmentally friendly without sacrificing performance. The company is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. Its popular Ecopower®faucet has been recognized as one of the top ten Green Products of 2003.
We will also be raising money to assist Habitat’s volunteers build houses for people who cannot otherwise afford to own their own home. Habitat provides interest free mortgages if the recipients invest sweat equity in helping to build and attend educational programs resulting in their being competent to own and maintain their own home and be good citizens in their neighborhoods. At points along the route they will stop to assist in this educational process and Gunnar will talk on the need for water efficiency in building and inhabiting "Green" homes.
